Produced in collaboration with the University of Warwick, here is a handy video explaining some of the basics of EMAT operation:
Sonemat is proud to introduce the new look HPP2000 High Power Pulser and SAA1000 Standalone amplifier . These are revised and upgraded versions of classic laboratory tools for powering EMATs in a huge range of applications.Posted on August 28th, 2014
Due to the unique properties of shear-horizontal guided and bulk waves, and popular demand for bespoke EMATs capable of generating and detecting them, we have added Shear Horizontal EMATs to our transducer lists.
The transducers generate a shear horizontal wave either as a plate mode in a thin sheet, or a bulk wave in thicker material with the angle of propagation dependent on the driving frequency. This allows it to be used in a range of novel applications such as frequency controlled scanning, thickness gauging and round-corner scanning.
Sonemat is pleased to announce its participation in the EU FP7 project “I-Rail“. Working with partners from all across Europe, the aim is to develop the next generation of rapid inspection systems for defects on rail tracks. Please see the project website for more details.Posted on June 20th, 2011
Sonemat is pleased to introduce the latest addition to its GS series of EMAT adaptor boxes, the GS2020! This features ass the compatibility of the GS1100 but with an integral A-D convertor, running averager and D-A system to resend the averaged data to a flaw detector. Most modern flaw detectors can comfortably operate at a 1kHz repetition rate, allowing the GS2020 to massively bost signal: noise ratio without significant response delay. This opens up many new potential applications for EMAT measurements in the field.Posted on November 9th, 2010
Sonemat is pleased to announce it is now able to act as UK agent for Ritec inc. Ritec manufacture a wide range of high performance toneburst generators, amplifiers and related systems suitable for use with EMATs, greatly extending your EMAT NDT capabilities. Please contact us for advice and prices on Ritec products. We will shortly be updating our website with more information on available Ritec equipment - for now, please follow this link to see Ritecs full range.Posted on July 7th, 2009
Sonemat is pleased to announce the development of two new specialist EMAT probes - a water cooled version of the popular HWS22xx series known as the WC2235 for use at high temperature, and a high impedance EMAT HI5735 for use on difficult materials such as titanium and stainless steel. Also we have re-designed our PE series pulse-echo box into a more modern, ergonomic case. Full details to be added to the website shortly.Posted on July 14th, 2008
Welcome to the new look Sonemat website! Sonemat today launches the first stage of its website regeneration program. This site is still undergoing improvement and modernisation; we apologise for any problems experienced during this transition period.Posted on September 3rd, 2007
